Black & White tuxes….

Tuxedos, oxford flats, bow ties & a pompadour… none other than Miss Janelle Monae.

Her superhero uniform  has been inspired by both Alfred Hitchcock’s vibe & Katharine Hepburn’s non-conformist style, it truly is her lifestyle.

I stumbled upon Chicago’s Art Director, Jesse Hora’s artwork while reading up on Miss Monae & wanted to share it for a while now.

The 24-year old Kansas native has caught my eye from her very beginnings in 2006 as a member of OutKast’s posse where she was featured on their Idlewild album.

With initial plans to become a Broadway performer she returned to music, her art, which she believes can change the world.

With 2 albums under her belt: Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase) 2007

her most recent May 2010: The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III)

All in all this classic, transcending looking clean, retro-futuristic lady is one I get my inspirations from, no doubt!
